Privacy Policy

Atlas Development (“we”, “us”) operates Tax Map at taxesmap.app. We built this to collect as little personal data as possible. This policy explains what we do — and don’t — do.
The short version
- No accounts, no sign-up, no advertising, and no tracking cookies or profiling analytics.
- We never sell or share your personal data.
- The only data related to you is your approximate location (country) and the preferences your own browser stores locally.
What we collect
Approximate location (country). To pre-fill your “current tax jurisdiction”, we read the country your connection appears to originate from, provided by our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) from your IP address. We use only the two-letter country code and do not store your IP address.
Local preferences (in your browser). Your selected tax jurisdiction and light/dark theme are saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers them. This stays on your device and is not transmitted to us.
Server logs. As with any website, our hosting provider processes standard request data (IP address, browser, timestamp) transiently to deliver the site securely. We do not use this to build a profile of you.
What we do not collect
No names, emails or accounts (the site requires none). No advertising or cross-site tracking. No third-party analytics that profile individuals. No sale or sharing of personal data.
Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our limited processing relies on our legitimate interest in running a secure website and remembering your preferences. The browser-local preferences are stored by you, on your device.
Processors
- Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, content delivery, security and country-level geolocation, under its own privacy terms.
Your rights
Under the GDPR/UK GDPR and comparable laws you may have rights to access, correct, erase or object to the processing of personal data we hold. Because we hold essentially no personal data tied to you, there is usually nothing on our side to retrieve or delete — and you can clear the browser-stored preferences yourself at any time via your browser settings. International transfers
Our infrastructure provider operates globally; data may be processed outside your country under that provider’s safeguards.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 16.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date above reflects the latest version.
